Photographer's Notes:
    This Red Fox, a beauty of a creature was stalking a
    yellow-bellied marmot on a trail in Grand Teton National
    Park. Both predator and prey in this situation weigh in at
    11-12 lbs. If caught, the fox would have a bit of a serious
    fighter to contend with!

    High above the valley floor, we watched this fox quietly
    stalk a marmot while hiking the trail to Amphitheater
    Lake.

    It was wonderful to witness such a rare scene of
    wildness play itself out. The marmot won this time - but
    the fox was only 3' short of it's target before the marmot
    ducked into the safety of a rock crevice.
