| Image Title: Rainbow Arch Photographer's Notes:
marks the north gate to Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, Montana. Just outside our kitchen and living room windows, my wife and I look at the arch each day. Since the arch was dedicated in 1903 by Theodore Roosevelt, this stone gateway has served as the main portal for many a summer vacationer to Yellowstone National Park. Tourists arrive each day to visit this one-of-a-kind place, but now they arrive in rental cars, RV's, trucks, vans and tour buses... Previously the old "Tally Ho" stagecoaches would have taken visitors the five miles up from the Northern Pacific rail car in Gardiner to their hotel in Mammoth Hot Springs.
